Strathfield – Contemporary new build gains its personality, design and style from a treasured, colourful glassware collection brought from India.

Upon meeting my clients Preeta & Prem I had nothing apart from a valued glassware collection brought from India to work with when it came to the look & style they hoped to create for their new home. The brief was for a family friendly, contemporary designer home that did not date. The result, a stylish contemporary home with warmth colour and life based on the colours of the glassware collection, which now takes pride of place on the custom console at the entrance.

From the wallpaper in the boys bedrooms, to the custom designed entrance rug and matching commissioned artwork by Dana Dion to bespoke cabinetry from ALTONE Design, the home encompasses and reflects the colourful glass collection. The beautiful walnut stained floors set the scene and organic colours and shapes, such as the hand thrown ceramics give warmth to an otherwise stark palette. This home is testament to how a colourful palette and careful consideration to design can provide warmth & life to a very clean cut contemporary architectural design.
