BOWRAL

Bowral- this sprawling estate needed lots of tender love and care, inside and out and received a full renovation to accommodate a busy family of 6 and their lifestyle. The design again bursts with colour, life and quirky personality.   

This project was my 2nd with clients Shelley & Paul & their tribe, we are now on to the 5th project, a new wing to this sprawling country home to accommodate the growing tribe!

When I met Shelley, she had a few ideas but really did not know what direction to go in with their then home, which was quite modern and stark, I tossed around a few ideas for the space but couldn’t really get a reading from Shell and then I commented on this beautiful Mid Century piece of furniture, a hall table that sat quietly in a corner, Shelley’s response was “oh yes I love that but it doesn’t really belong with the house” so we made the house belong to the piece!

We turned the modern design scheme around, softened and blended it with beautiful natural timbers, fabrics, papers and paints that leant themselves to a more classic look. The hall table still has pride of place in the Bowral home, which clearly is not Mid Century muted!  Watch this space!
